Aku baru jer diperkenalkan dengan satu lagi komik Marvel di bawah tulisan Brian K. Vaughan, seorang si botak yang merupakan penulis komik Marvel yang tersohor (pelik dan lucu apabila kebanyakan penulis komik barat tersohor botak-botak belaka, kecuali, well, Neil Gaiman and Alan Moore and maybe a lot more).
The title of the comic is Runaways, one of the quite latest works of Brian and presenting a unique prespective to the Marvel superheroes world. It is about a group of juvenile superheroes whose parent; suprise or no suprise, were supervillains who named themselves "Pride". It started when these kids were hauled to a once a year gathering by their parents. Actually these "gatherings" were sacrificial ceremonies to achieve the reborn of the world (world destruction), To cut it short, they discovered what their parents were up to, team up and along the way regain their "superhero powers" as they embark on the adventure to stop their parents from destroying the world.
So kids, sedangkan supervillains sayangkan anak-anak diorang, takkan ibu bapa kita tak sayangkan kita. Diorang selalu marah-marah tu sebab sayang :P.
And 2nd, which is the most important; is that the choice you make determines who you are and these choices make your destiny and fate. True, seperti kata westerners "fate has been written in the beginning" dengan ayat Al-Quran bahawa "qada' dan qadar dah ditentukan" tapi kita juga yang berusaha untuk menentukan nasib kita. Berusaha dulu barulah bertawakal atau berserah. Life is full of endless possibilities.
Well folks, thats all about Runaways that I can think of right now. Anyway, let me end this article with this piece of self created wise saying:

Well, there's a joke that says in order to be a comic writer, you have to be bald or British. Alan Moore, Neil Gaiman, and Mark Millar are British. The Brians (Vaughan, Bendis, Azzarello, Wood) are bald and not British.
hah, tu ler yg aku terlupa. ko ada ckp yg US comic writers semua botak2 belaka and Brits, well, they are Brits, weird and full of hairs. Thx for recommending this comic bro...:)
Molly Hayes ftw! :P
Story dia macam dah jadi typical ala gen 13.
aku pon baru jer baca 1st season tuh. rasanyer main attraction dier utk season 1 maybe psl the theme of supervillain parents with superhero minded kids. 2nd season, maybe psl that unique theme dah takde, tu yg jd kureng menarik kot...
Aku still suka season 2 gak.
me likey. typical whedon-esque plot we know and love.
too bad vaughan leave abruptly. his story arc's ending kinda...leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Maybe it was linked to the civil war event. susah nak cakap sebab aku sendiri tak habis baca lagi civil war. huhuhu.
btw, kalo korang peminat whedon, pi layan dr horrible. awesome tahap dewa.
dr horrible? hmmm. aku serahkan kepada adib, reviewer comic yg tersohor penah aku kenal (and apparently yg satu2nya mampu dan sanggup membeli hardcover comics :P), kekeke...
Thanks sixgun. Boleh la aku beli Whedon nye runaways next. Civil War aku baca main story dia je. Dah naik menyampah lak dengan Marvel punya crossover. Tak sentuh lagi Secret Invasion.
Dr. Horrible bukan komik. Web musical. Dan ya, aku dah tengok Dr. Horrible. Anything with Nathan Fillion dengan Neil Patrick Harris should be good. Plus, apa-apa Whedon sentuh jadi gold.
